An incredible vacation to Alaska, scheduled based on the season of Aug 21 to April 21 in Fairbanks to see the Northern Lights, (which likely means late August to mid-September for those of us who don't want to experience an Alaskan winter), would include (if one goes North to South, which can be reversed to go South to North) seeing the Northern Lights in Fairbanks, taking the Dome Train south to Denali for a few days in Denali State Park, then taking the Dome Train further south to Anchorage, and then a cruise on the Inside Passage (departing either from Anchorage or flying south to depart from Juneau) and disembarking in Vancouver or Seattle to return home, is a trip of a lifetime. Call us if this is a bucket list item for you; we can put it together for you.
We will hereafter refer to this as the Alaskan Grand Tour.
